By Him

For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16

heaven and earth

Where are you God in the land you ordained?

We look up, eyes to heaven.

Where are you God in the people you dwell?

We look out, eyes to man.

Where are you God in the dust you formed?

We look down, eyes to earth.

By His creation He says “I am here.”

When will you lift your hand of protection?

We hold on, faith in God, The Father.

When will you come for your Bride?

We hold on, worshiping the Son.

When will you leave the lost to themselves?

We hold on, trusting in the Holy Spirit.

By His Word He says “I am the Great I AM.”

Why do you wait for all to come?

He gives hope, our only way.

Why do you forgive when all have sinned?

He gives mercy, His only way.

Why do you sacrifice one for many?

He gives love, The Only Way.

By His gift He says “I am love.”

Relieve Your Temptation!

I don’t know why this came to me as I was reading Matthew 4. It kind of takes me back to when I wrote poetry as a teenager. As I was taking mental notes on all that took place before Jesus’ ministry I kept summing it up with one word descriptions. While this is not in depth, nor a revelation by any means I thought it was kind of neat. I shared it with a few others a while back but thought it would be neat to share it again.

Jesus’
Temptation
was a
Preparation
to draw a
Congregation
for the
Education
of God’s
Revelation
through his son’s
Reputation
bringing
Dedication
from the multitude!

The one point that stuck out in my mind was the use of scripture by the Lord to overcome temptation. I have learned that lesson well. You must know it so well, wall-papering your mind with it so that when, not if, temptation comes, the Word just comes out naturally. Usually, when we are under pressure to give into sin is not the best time to be grappling for a weapon, just as a soldier would not go into battle and leave his weapon back at the rear, we need to arm ourselves and be ready for battle at a moments notice.

God’s Word says

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Another item worthy to note, is that the devil, himself, used the scripture against the Lord, he is very well versed and knows how to use it against us. Especially Christians who are weak in knowledge of God’s Word.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19

We often wonder why we have to go through temptations. There is not an easy answer, though the Bible has some insight to that end. In Jesus’ case, I believe God used it to not only prepare Him for His ministry but also as an example to us as to how to fight temptation…..

With His Word!
