How Many Kings

You all know how I love music and the lyrics to the songs that touch my heart. Our Christian radio station, KSBJ Christian Radio Station, is playing continuous Christmas music from Thanksgiving to New Years(you can listen on your computer). I love it…so many memories in many of the songs. They have been playing this song the last couple of days and last night during my commute home I listened to the words for the first time. It was so very powerful and soooo much truth in every line! I have added it to my Project Playlist and I hope you take a minute to listen to it.

How Many Kings

Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe after all we’ve projected
A child in a manger

Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mothers shawl
Just a child
Is this who we’ve waited for?

Cause how many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Bringing our gifts for the newborn savior
All that we have whether costly or meek
Because we believe
Gold for his honor and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he’ll suffer
Do you believe, is this who we’ve waited for?
It’s who we’ve waited for

How many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only one did that for me

All for me
All for you
All for me
All for you

  1. Hi Michelle…I am still trying to get used to these changes. I liked it better when I knew one of my friends updated their blog when I clicked on my homepage. Now we get everyone’s comments??? Why??? Oh well…We will figure it out and it gives us something to gripe about. You know in a way they are removing us more from the creative side of our web spaces to just a “Facebook” community. That’s unfortunate…Went to the Texans game…Awesome!!!35 degrees in Houston today…Wow!!!I loved the lyrics to that song. Very good…You all be well down there in big ol’ Texas…Greg

  2. Hi Shell,I see you finally got your post to publish. Maybe you don\’t even know it worked?About earlier, I am sorry we got disconnected on Messenger. I am at a loss what to try next. Was great chatting with you today while it lasted though.MSN sure is frustrating, but so is my new website. Spent all night trying to find 2 lines of php code I needed to change to make the search results and archives display properly. At least my frustration produced the desired results so its all good.I also managed to get another photo posted. It will get easier, I keep telling myself.Anyhoo, I\’ll call you this weekend if we can\’t chat online this week. K?Now I am going to listen to this song again. It sure is lovely and peaceful and so very meaningful.Hugs, Liz

  3. You know? I\’d never heard this song! It\’s wonderful that somebody thought of that and put those thoughts to music! Hallelujah!!!Please keep me posted on your March trip. Hopefully I won\’t be running off the the mountains like I did this past March, lol! I haven\’t shared about that. I may or may likely not. Sometimes you just gotta get away. I\’d reached that point and just took a couple of sick days and did it. It was the best thing I could have done for where I was at the time…

  4. PS: you can block applications on facebook. In small blue letters just underneath the accept button you\’ll see where you can click to block it. Makes for a much more peaceful facebook experience, believe me! I have certain applications I\’m really into. A lot of them though are just noise. I\’m glad I became unafraid to block them! Ahhhhh….calm in my world….me likey calm in my world….Love you so much!!!
